Welcome Jim Geikie and David Baldwin!

I’m blessed to bookend next week’s classes at Carolina with two executives from Raleigh’s advertising royalty!

A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Jim Geikie’s stellar career in consumer products has included a series of increasingly significant marketing roles at Unilever; his post as VP, Corporate Communications at Cree; as the CMO at La Lumiere, and as Vice President, General Manager at Burt’s Bees.

Today Jim’s a Partner with One Better Ventures, an advisory and investment firm which nurtures innovative and sustainable consumer brands that have “a positive impact on the world”. Formed by the partners who built Burt’s Bees and Seventh Generation, they advise, invest in, and incubate mission-driven ventures with stunningly sustainable business models, currently including Sunsoil, Leesa Sleep and Filter Easy.

One of the most acclaimed creative directors in advertising today, David Baldwin is the founder of Baldwin&, which has been named Ad Age's Small Agency of the Year, was twice honored with Ad Age's Campaign of the Year, and has also been named the 4A's Creative Small Agency of the Year.

David's work has been recognized at The One Show, Cannes, D&AD, and the Clios. He's the author of the Amazon Best-Seller The Belief Economy: How to Give a Damn, Stop Selling, and Create Buy-In and co-founder and brand master of Ponysaurus Brewing - “The beer beer would drink if beer could drink beer.”
